Guest Review: NA Review - Frigid by J. Lynn

Frigid (Frigid #1) by J. Lynn

Frigid (Frigid, #1)Goodreads Blurb

For twenty-one-year-old Sydney, being in love with Kyler isn't anything new. They'd been best friends ever since he pushed her down on the playground and she made him eat a mud pie. Somewhere over the years, she fell for him and fell hard. The big problem with that? Kyler puts the 'man' in man-whore. He's never stayed with a girl longer than a few nights, and with it being their last year in college, Syd doesn't want to risk their friendship by declaring her love.

Kyler has always put Syd on a pedestal that was too high for him to reach. To him, she's perfect and she's everything. But the feelings he has for her, he's always hidden away or focused on any other female. After all, Kyler will always be the poor boy from the wrong side of tracks, and Syd will always be the one girl he can never have.

But when they're stranded together at a posh ski resort due to a massive Nor'easter, there's nothing stopping their red-hot feelings for each other from coming to the surface. Can their friendship survive the attraction? Better yet, can they survive at all? Because as the snow falls, someone is stalking them, and this ski trip may be a life-changer in more ways than one.

With so many books out there to read. It's hard to find a book that has everything I need to make me swoon, laugh out loud and fall madly and deeply in love with it, all in one sitting. So if you are looking for a relaxing, romantic packed book with a lot, and I mean A LOT, of steamy scenes, then this is exactly what you should pick up and read!

After reading so many books out there with a lot of fast-paced action throughout the entire novel, I was starting to get sick and bored with the predictability of it all. So reading this novel was like a nice breath of fresh air. It was something new, that cliché romance we love and enjoy and yet still full of surprises. It was totally different then all the other books out there, but still had JLA’s romantic punch that we all know and love. ;)

Sydney, is your typical down to earth, girl next door, sweetheart we know of. But she can also be feisty, funny and sarcastic like any other college student. But being stuck with her best friend, who she is secretly crushing on, shows readers and Kyler a whole new side of her.
Kyler on the other hand is charming, sexy, sweet and down right illegal for being that good looking.  *cue drool please* yeah...I just wanna not write this review at all, just so that I can keep him all to myself. Haha!

The story starts off with readers getting to know Sydney, eyeing her best friend Kyler at a bar who happens to have a girl on his lap, when they were suppose to hang out together enjoying the end of the semester. Which is such a typical player move. And yet instead of being disgusted and annoyed with his behaviour, she can't help but fall in love with him in a more than friends way. With dual point of views, readers also get a feel for Kyler, who of course is clueless about Sydney’s ordeal. As his feelings for Sydney go way beyond than the normal platonic friendship. Kyler truly cares about Sydney, figuring her out as someone who he thinks he doesn’t deserve and so treats her like someone fragile and rare, someone who thinks he could never have. But to Sydney, she thinks he only cares for her as ‘like a sister’ and nothing more. People never understood how Kyler could be ‘just’ friends with Sydney, including Sydney herself for that long. They’re two different individuals with different tastes and social outlook. But nobody really understood their deep underlying connection with each other, not even Sydney and Kyler themselves.

Fast forward and what was supposed to be an enjoyable winter break with their closest friends, has turned out to be a ‘stuck together’ situation as they end up being snowed in a cabin for days by themselves, with no one around but each other to keep company. Not only will they have to figure out if their friendship can survive when they step over the line and go from friends...to benefits. But they also have to deal with mysterious events that lead to sudden shattered windows, cut pipe lines and a vehicle almost running Sydney over. With no electricity and communication to the outside world, they’ll have to figure out who is trying to kill them and why, while consuming to the attraction between them, all before one of them gets hurt...or worse.

And so begins the journey to the ‘more than a friend’ stages. With unexpected twists and turns and steamy, swoon-worthy scenes, Frigid will capture and entice you like no other NA novel out there. You could say that this book is cliché, but if you’re like me and LOVE JLA's style of writing, than you will definitely enjoy this novel! Her books have a way of making it difficult for you to put down the story, even if it’s just to go to the bathroom or have a quick drink and snack! LOL

If your still not convinced, than here’s a couple of teasers to entice you!

"He regarded me with a wicked glint.
"Look around the room, Syd. There's something you're missing."
Scanning the room, it took me a couple of moments to catch on. " My clothes? Where are my clothes?"
His answering grin was pure sin. "You're not going to need any clothes today, baby.""
