Monday Review - Model Spy (The Specialists #1) by Shannon Greenland

Model Spy by Shannon Greenland (The Specialists #1)

Goodreads Blurb: Teen genius Kelly James is in a lot of hot water. A whiz with computers, she agreed to help her college RA, David, uncover some top-secret information. After all, she doesn't have many friends and David has always been nice to her. It doesn't hurt that he's supercute and irresistible, too. All she has to do is hack into the government's main computer system. But a few hours later, her whole life changes. She is caught and taken in for questioning, only this isn't your run-of-the-mill arrest. Rather than serve a juvenile detention sentence, she accepts the option to change her name and enlist in a secret government spy agency that trains teen agents to go undercover. As if that wasn't overwhelming enough, she discovers that David works for this agency as well! And before she even begins to understand what is going on, she's sent on her first mission as an undercover model. And who better to partner with than David himself!

 My Review:
Okay so I recently just finished reading 'Model Spy by Shannon Greenland' and just had to do a review. It was one of those really well written books were you felt like you were a part of the story line, a part of their world. I honestly could not put it down!, my thoughts were instantly captured while reading this. While it is a book about spy’s, there's also a little romance going on throughout the novel, which is just what all teenagers need to spice up the book! :). I have got to say, now that I have finished reading this book I just want to go on and read the second one ASAP! This has got to be one of those books,I will always remember and re-read when I have free time. I totally recommend this but there has got to be a warning label because when you finish reading your going to get sucked in and want to be a spy. ;-)

Until next time ;-)

Mary's Review #2

Double Crossed: A Spies and Thieves Story by Ally Carter

Goodreads Blurb: Macey McHenry—Glamorous society girl or spy-in-training?

W.W. Hale V—Heir to an American dynasty or master thief?

There are two sides to every coin. Whether these two can work together is a tossup.

Born into privilege, Macey and Hale are experts at mingling with the upper class. But even if they’ve never raised an eyebrow at the glitz, neither teenager has ever felt at home with the glamour.

When Macey and Hale meet at a society gala, the party takes a dangerous turn. Suddenly they’re at the center of a hostage situation, and it’s up to them to stop the thugs from becoming hostile. Will Macey’s spy skills and Hale’s con-man ways be enough to outsmart a ruthless gang? Or will they have to seek out the ultimate inside girl to help?

The worlds of Heist Society and the Gallagher Girls collide in Ally Carter’s fast-paced, high-stakes and tantalizing new story. Get a behind the scenes glimpse as Ally delivers an irresistible thriller that is full of her signature style and savvy twists.

My Review: (Contains some SPOILERS!)

Okay, so I haven't read an Ally Carter book since early last year when GG5 first came out. But reading this novella simply reminded me exactly why I fell in love with Ally Carter's writing. Simply put, she's amazing! Her storylines are intriguing and mysterious and the characters are funny and captivating and makes you wish you knew people like them or are them. ;) And everytime one of my questions such as 'Oh no why is Hale pushing his mother into an elevator?!' has been answered another one pops up (the last elevator slid slowly open and two men in masks rushed out.) to keep me interested till the very last page and goes to show why she's an awesome author!

In Double Crossed, we get to read some parts in Hale's POV, which is just so cool, I can't even begin to tell you how much! We also see exactly how he feels towards Kat. Which is a lot more obvious through the use of Macey's POV ;)But don't get me wrong his still the same charming, flirtatous, swoonworthy W. W. Hale V that we love! And his still delivering those wonderful comments we just love, such as this one...
“You’re late,” Kat said as soon as Hale put the phone to his ear. She wasn’t the kind of girl to wait for hello.
“What can I say? Macey McHenry has been throwing herself at me….”
“See, that’s the kind of thing that would make me jealous if she weren’t way out of your league.”
“You know, if I had feelings, that might have hurt them.”

As much as I would have loved to see Zach and Cammie in this novella. I still think it's so awesome that Macey and Abby are in it to add that Gallagher girl touch to the book as well as their character personalities that we love, such as Macey's covert skills and why she's kickass and Abby's awesome intuition such as finding who the bad guy is, which I would have never guessed! Because I'm pretty sure throughout the whole novella, my brain was trying to pick a side of either spies or thief's...And I still can't choose!

But the ending...oh man the ending! Ally Carter, I have just got to say, that is such an AWESOME ending! It was sweet, mysterious and alluring! I mean how totally awesome would it be if Katarina Bishop was a Gallagher girl?!

After reading this novella I'm suddenly in the mood for an Ally Carter Book Marathon of the Gallagher Girls & Heist society Series and I'm even more impatient for Heist Society 3 to come out! Which is lucky it comes out next month! or I might have gone cray-cray! :D And the last Gallagher Girl book is hopefully coming out towards the end of the year, so THAT I'm definitely hyped about! since it was the Gallagher Girl Series that got me hooked into YA Books.

In overall Double Crossed is a MUST-READ novella!!! :D

Altered (Altered #1) by Jennifer Rush

Goodreads Blurb: When you can’t trust yourself, who can you believe?

Everything about Anna’s life is a secret. Her father works for the Branch at the helm of its latest project: monitoring and administering treatments to the four genetically altered boys in the lab below their farmhouse. There’s Nick, Cas, Trev . . . and Sam, who’s stolen Anna’s heart. When the Branch decides it’s time to take the boys, Sam stages an escape, killing the agents sent to retrieve them.

Anna is torn between following Sam or staying behind in the safety of her everyday life. But her father pushes her to flee, making Sam promise to keep her away from the Branch, at all costs. There’s just one problem. Sam and the boys don’t remember anything before living in the lab—not even their true identities.

Now on the run, Anna soon discovers that she and Sam are connected in more ways than either of them expected. And if they’re both going to survive, they must piece together the clues of their past before the Branch catches up to them and steals it all away.

My Review:
Started reading it and I just couldn't put it down! It's Addicting and Amazing and was just something I didn't expect! It was an awesome read from start to finish! I loved every moment of it and I can't wait for the second book! :D It is definitely a MUST-READ! You'll just LOVE the four boys, especially Sam! :)

Do Over by Emily Evans

Goodreads Blurb: “Run Paisley run. Don’t look at Trey as boyfriend-material. He’s ridiculously smoking hot, but when he dates--he’s cheetah fast. Quick to catch you. Then gone.”

My BFF is right. Trey’s not for me.

I know what I want out of senior year: an artistic guy, a perfect prom, and a plan to reunite my parents. I can make those happen if I have a magical crystal like the one I saw at the museum. I need that Do Over stone.

How to use the power…hmm…Trey’s an über-jock with commitment issues. Can I turn him into the perfect boyfriend? Maybe with a thousand do overs.

My Review:         My GoodReads Review - Do Over
I pretty much devoured this book from start to finish in just a couple of hours. I couldn't put it down! It was addicting, funny, sweet and just so full of romance that I didn't want it to end! I just LOVE Trey! I will definitely be re-reading this! :-)

Temptation (Temptation #1) by Karen Ann Hopkins

Goodreads Blurb: Your heart misleads you.
That's what my friends and family say.

But I love Noah.
And he loves me.

We met and fell in love in the sleepy farming community of Meadowview, while we rode our horses together through the grassy fields and in those moments in each other's arms.

It should be

ROSE & NOAH

forever, easy.

But it won't be.

Because he's Amish.
And I'm not.

When I read the words 'Amish' I thought "Hmm...this isn't really my type of book. But when I started reading it, this book totally took me by suprise! I love the chemistry & romance between Rose & Noah and how far they'll go to be together. Even when they're apart, they still can't stop thinking about each other.  I also love the differences between the two worlds and the interaction of Rose and her brothers. This book is fascinating, romantic and funny. And with that ending I so can't wait to read book 2! :D The cover also helped to sway my decision into reading it, I mean common ain't that cover beautiful?
