New Adult Reviews - Forgiving Lies by Molly McAdams, This Much Is True by Katherine Owens and Mine by Katy Evans

Forgiving Lies (Forgiving Lies #1) by Molly McAdams

Forgiving Lies (Forgiving Lies, #1)

Goodreads Blurb

A matter of secrets...
Undercover cop Logan "Kash" Ryan can't afford a distraction like his new neighbor Rachel Masters, even if she's the most beautiful woman he's ever seen. To catch a serial killer, he needs to stay focused, yet all he can think about is the feisty, long-legged coed whose guarded nature intrigues him

A matter of lies...
Deceived and hurt before, Rachel would rather be a single, crazy cat lady than trust another guy, especially a gorgeous, tattooed bad boy with a Harley, like Kash. But when his liquid-steel eyes meet hers, it takes all of Rachel's will-power to stop herself from exploring his hot body with her own.

A matter of love...
As much as they try to keep it platonic, the friction between them sparks an irresistible heat that soon consumes them. Can Kash keep Rachel's heart and her life safe even as he risks his own? Will she be able to forgive his lies ... or will she run when she discovers the dangerous truth?

My Review:

It was a slow start for me, but it became better when Kash and Rach meet. Everything seemed to unravel from there.
And damn, that ending! Yikes, can't wait for book 2! :-D

It was a beautifully written story that had me curious and intrigued. The nemesis is plainly obvious (at least to me ;-)) So if you loved Molly's other novels, then you'll absolutely enjoy this! ;)

This Much Is True by Katherine Owens

This Much Is True

Goodreads Blurb

Both on the verge of fame. A ballerina who lies. A baseball player who believes her. Well, the truth changes everything.

Since Valentine's Day, Tally Landon has owned the most tragic story at Paly High. Now, she just wants to graduate, pursue her ballet career in New York, and leave this personal tragedy of hers far behind. Her best friend convinces her to attend one last party--a college party--where she meets Stanford's latest baseball wonder. Tally has a little fun at this guy's expense when she lies about her age and who she really is, intent on being someone else for just one night. After all, what's the harm in a few innocent lies, especially when she's so good at telling them?

Lincoln Presley's future is all mapped out. There is only baseball. With the big leagues circling with a lucrative offer, the star pitcher is solely focused upon securing his future. His cousin's party serves as a welcome distraction but then he sees the girl from Valentine's Day--the one he rescued from the burning wreckage on the 101. He can't quite hide his disappointment when she appears to look right through him, obviously not remembering him at all. Linc vows to learn her name at least. What would be the harm in getting to know this girl? What's the worst that can happen?

Fate brings them together. Fame & lies tear them apart. One truth remains...

Author's Note: A coming of age story? For sure. A powerful love story? Most definitely. An unforgettable read? Most likely. Intended for mature audiences? Absolutely.

My Review:

An emotional-packed story. Such an incredible storytelling too. The characters were divine and felt so real. I was laughing, tearful and everything felt like it leap't off the page and I found myself imensed in the world the author created. :-) It definitely captured that life isn't always perfect, that there are always twists and things we can't always plan. But it can be close to perfect if we let it, if we just left ourselves follow our heart and stay true to who we are and want we want. I loved how the author kept surprising us with shocking news and twists, it definitely got me interested the whole time that's for sure!

Mine (Real #2) by Katy Evans

Mine (Real, #2)

Goodreads Blurb

He's mine, and I'm his. Our love is all-consuming, powerful,
imperfect, and real...

In the international bestseller REAL, the unstoppable bad boy of the Underground fighting circuit finally met his match. Hired to keep him in prime condition, Brooke Dumas unleashed a primal desire in Remington "Riptide" Tate as vital as the air he breathes... and now he can't live without her.

Brooke never imagined she would end up with the man who is every woman's dream, but not all dreams end happily ever after, and just when they need each other the most, she is torn away from his side. Now with distance and darkness between them, the only thing left is to fight for the love of the man she calls MINE.

My Review:

Yikes! I Didn't think Katy could beat the awesomeness that is book one, but darn did she prove me wrong. This book was a wonderful sequel! It had everything I loved in book one but with so much more added drama. I feel like the characters were more improved and mature while maintaining their unique characteristics. It's great to see some things are still the same though such as The Scorpion, Nora, Melanie and Brooke and Remy's charisma. But that the author still manages to shock us with her surprises when we least expect it to, which made this sequel even better. But overall this novel will definitely have you falling for Riptide even more so than the first book, which is a success all in its self, since book one was pretty darn awesome. ;-)

Oh! And not to ruin anything but I LOVE Racer!!! <3
