Review: Shatter Me by Tahereh Mafi

Shatter Me (Shatter Me #1) by Tahereh Mafi

Goodreads Blurb

Juliette hasn’t touched anyone in exactly 264 days.

This was recommended to me by a lot of people, so I thought I'd give it a shot and see what the fuss was all about.

When I first started reading it, I was a little confused. The writing was a little different, then anything I've ever read. I didn't know if the copy I bought was a computer error or if the author made a lot of mistakes and this was just the draft and not the finished copy. But as I kept reading it, I realised that this is part of the story. That those crossed out words and repetitions was how the main character spoke and thought and I got used to it.

Mainly because the storyline was really intriguing and I found myself hanging on to every word. It was different, you never knew what was gonna happen next. There were a lot of surprises and revelations I never knew to think of.

I definitely love the connection between Juliette and Adam and was #TeamADAM all the way. I like how they're so drawn to each other but have to keep it on the down low on the base. But once their free of that place their chemistry was like WHOA! Everyone on Twitter was on team Warner, but I found Warner a little bit on the Psycho angle, but I guess will learn more about him on the next book (Destroy Me).

This book was entertaining, captivating and hilarious and made me slightly jealous of Juliette that she's got Adam's attention... lol
But the character I found that I wish had more part of was Adam's little bro James. I found him so cute! He made me wish I had him as a brother (no offense to my brother or anything lol). I also love Adam and James relationship, that even though they've been apart for months their still so close.

A Short Book Review: Part #2

Play with Me by Piper Shelly

Goodreads Blurb:  A short, sweet novella.

Ryan Hunter's parties are legend. And tonight she's going to be there.

Liza Matthews anticipates the return of her best friend and only love since kindergarten from soccer camp. But when Tony finally shows up, his mind is more focused on another girl. And worse, she's a soccer player. Fighting for the attention Liza craves, she's just a hairbreadth away from making a very stupid decision. But when extraordinary times call for extraordinary measures, she's prepared to play ball to get her man.

The tryouts are hell, the first match ends bloody, and the morning after the selection party she wakes up in the worst place possible—in the arms of the captain of the soccer team. The hottest guy in school. Ryan Hunter.

My Review:

Oh my gosh! This book totally took me by surprise! It's one of those books you think looks alright, but when you start reading it...BAM! It totally blows your mind! And you end up reading it from front to back in a matter of hours. ;-) And by the time you turn the last page, your thinking "Noo!, This can't end!" Well...that's pretty much my reaction ;) and then some.

This book was so cute, sweet, funny and romantic that it  made me wish that Ryan Hunter was mine! The storyline was amazing, unpredictable and definitely took me by surprise 0_O. The chemistry between Ryan & Liza was undeniable and oh so sweet!
 It's a MUST READ!!!
So start flicking those pages because I can guarante that you won't regret it! :D

Of Poseidon by Anna Banks

Goodreads Blurb:  Galen is the prince of the Syrena, sent to land to find a girl he's heard can communicate with fish. Emma is on vacation at the beach. When she runs into Galen — literally, ouch! — both teens sense a connection. But it will take several encounters, including a deadly one with a shark, for Galen to be convinced of Emma's gifts. Now, if he can only convince Emma that she holds the key to his kingdom . . .

Told from both Emma and Galen's points of view, here is a fish-out-of-water story that sparkles with intrigue, humor, and waves of romance.

My Review:

[ •_• ] 4.5 Stars

Ok, wow. Another book I totally wasn't expecting. I got hooked right from the very first chapter as Emma smacks into Galen's bare chest, face first! and pretty much laughed out loud at the funniest comments throughout the novel.

This was a great read! The writing was really great and very emotional at some parts, like the parts about Chloe even though we didn't really know her that well, we could still get a feel of how Emma felt about her best friends death. I also love the innocence of Galen, Rayna & Toraf as they learn how to act and what to say like the 'humans' do. I pretty much LOL'd at those parts, they have got to be the funniest parts throughout the novel!!

This book was funny, alluring, amazing and really gave you a great insight into the world of the Syrena. I would recommend this! :)

And with that cliffhanger, Anna Banks left us in. I kept turning the page to see if the next part magically appeared, which sadly it didn't. :( But I am definitely dying to read the sequel Of Triton! Which comes out in May! Which is fortunately 2 months away & not a year! Which means more Galen! ;)

Cover Reveal: An Endless Summer by C.J Duggan

Cover Reveal: An Endless Summer by C.J Duggan!

Feast your eyes on this awesomeness! ;)

Author: C.J Duggan
Release Date: July 17th 2013
Previous Book: The Boys Of Summer
Genre: Mature Young Adult

Synopsis

Sean looked out over the lake, squinting against the sunlight. He turned to me, his expression sobering as his eyes flicked over my face in a silent study.
“Come on Amy, I saved you once, I’ll save you again.”
I met his stare unflinchingly. “I don’t need saving.”
A wicked grin formed slowly. “Don’t you?”

After a rebellious summer night that almost claimed her life, Amy Henderson – the Onslow publican’s only daughter – is sent away to suffer a fate far worse than any other punishment:

Boarding School.

Three years on, a now nineteen-year-old Amy returns to Onslow for the summer. What once was a cauldron of activity with live bands, hot meals and cold beers, the Onslow Hotel now lies dark, deserted and depressing. All fond childhood memories of loitering on the hotel stairs and eavesdropping on customers’ colourful conversations are in the distant past.

How had her dad let it come to this?

With the new threat of putting the Onslow up for sale, Amy reluctantly turns to a local tradesman for help: Sean Murphy, the very same Onslow boy who saved her life all those years ago. With his help and that of some old friends, the task is clear: spend the summer building the hotel back up to its former glory or lose it for good.

In an endless summer, Amy soon realises that sometimes in order to save your future, you have to face your past, even if it’s in the form of a smug, gorgeous Onslow boy.
